Arapahoe Band Musicians Achieve Awards at Solo and Ensemble Music Festival

Centennial, Colorado-Arapahoe Band Musicians performed in the Annual CHSAA State Solo and Ensemble Music Festival at Lakewood High School on April 25, 2009.  The following soloists and ensembles achieved superior ratings:

Clarinet Choir: Madison Munn, Conor McCandless, Donna Villanyi, Matt Darling, Denae Hill,  Andrew Walker, Jaden Gardner, Erik Lundgren,  Nicole Jensen, Keke Kosse, Phillip Strom, Phoebe Flynn.

Woodwind Quintet:  Kelly Churchill, Tom Roberts, Lisa Stippich, Donna Villanyi, Nathan Wait.

Flute Trio:  Emily Haller, Emily Haskins, Kelly Churchill.

Woodwind Trio:  Emily Haller, Maureen Kosse, Wes Leffingwell.

Flute Choir: Jon Karr, Michelle Phair, Karly Hood, Kanin Prasertsin, Tom Roberts, Matt Lay, Cady Dixon, Emily Haskins, Leah Hill, Jordyn Mackelburger,  Dylan Gordon, Kelly Churchill, Emily Haller, Hannah Sphatt.

Flute Duet: Emily Haller & Emily Haskins.

Clarinet Duet I: Donna Villanyi & Matt Darling

Quiet Percussion Ensemble: Molly Phenix, Kevin Matthews, Zach White, Wes Leffingwell, Cameron Brown, David Culp, Drew Blanchard.

Concert Band Percussion Ensemble: Cameron Brown, Kikue Hardman, Raleigh Jonscher, Lucy Pye, Cody Stogsdill.

Whistler Percussion Ensemble:  Drew Blanchard, Mark Goetz, Dan Matthews, Trevor Teply, Jake Mirow.

Clarinet Duet II:  Nicole Jensen & Madison Munn

Soloists Included:  Grant Furry, Tom Roberts, Sarah Cheney, Kelly Churchill, Molly Phenix, Zach White, Kevin Matthews, David Culp, Cameron Brown, Dan Matthews, Wes Leffingwell, and Emily Haller.

Dr. Ed Cannava directs the Bands at Arapahoe High School.  Small Ensemble Directors include:  Ms. Heather Davis, Clarinet; Mr. Fred Bowlus, Percussion; Mr. Tait Solberg, Saxophone; Mr. Michael Vigliotti, Woodwind Quintet; and Ms. Fran Piazza, Flute.
